E-Trac strikes 2nd and 3rd silver

Hello everybody.

Here is an update from Nebraska, but first the weather. 36 degrees with an inch of snow on the ground, wind blowing from the North 15 mph with gusts to 25. Now back to our top story. I've been hunting the same little park by the river where I found the 1917 Merc. on Fri.

Yesterday I found my first indian head 1906. I had a feeling all winter after finding the 1910 wheat at this location last fall that there was a good possibility of an IH.

Today I hunted there again. The North is really protected by trees so the colder weather and the wind was not a bother. Within 5 minutes of the start I unearthed a 1916 Merc. S mint. Oh how I wished it were a D mint. No matter how hard I squinted and angled the coin up into the light I couldn't get that S to turn into a D. Oh well, I was really pleased. Two hours later I dug up my 3rd Mercury dime 1942.

Mercury Dimes - 1916, 1917, 1942

IH - 1907

Wheats - 2 - 1917's, 2 - 1945's, 1910, 1919,

1 - 1957 Jefferson Nickel

Total time for all the hunts 12 hours. I did not really shoot for any jewelry as I live only 5 miles away and plan on being able to hunt there anytime I feel like it, so will try for that some other time.

Thanks again for all the advice guys. Where I found the coins there wasn't a heavy amount of trash, but there are places where you get a constant null and have to raise the coil to get your threshold back. I know that the consensus is to really slow down, but I was getting cold. Sometime after many more hours of experience I hope to video this little park (and by park I mean its just a place to gather along the river) no swings, slides or anything other than 2 picnic tables and 2 outhouses and the river. The nearest town is over 15 miles away and that town only has 100 people in it.

I will try and take pictures of this weeks hunts, but I'm going out again tomorrow and hope to after church on Sunday. By doing this I hope to have close to 20 hrs. in on the E-Trac this week. I really would like to get 75-100 hrs. in before planting season, then its going to be a few evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Take care and good luck hunting!!!!
