g'day one and all,has anyone hunted for gold nuggets using the e trac and if so,what were your settings?bye for now, blowfly

G'day Blowfly.
One of the local lads here has taken his E-trac out to some local gold fields here and snagged himself a 2.5 ounce nugget. One of the other locals has taken his Quattro out onto the gold fields. Both guys have stated how stable they were. They both reckon that they were as quiet as the PI machines. They are not sensitive to the small stuff though. The ground didn't seem to effect their detectors anywhere near as bad as a VLF machine. So to answer your question, if you aren't chasing the sub grammes, then use the E-Trac. It'll punch a lot deeper than a VLF. One of the other locals who has just traded in his MXT, said that his deepest nugget was only a few inches down. The E-trac heard that 2.5 ounce nugget at 8 inches in a test situation that was known to be very mineralised.

The Etrac certainly finds tiny things!
