Eagle button, Railroad lock, Native American knife blade

Evolution

New member
Got out for a couple huts this weekend., Hit a foundation site first and was able to recover a few targets but there wasn't much there. Found a few buttons including a nice eagle button, an 1898 indian head, and a few other things.

Hit another site the following day and found a nice railroad lock. N Y C & H R R R co.... Also found a few ornate picture frames that I'm going to try to restore and display somehow. The Native American knife blade was found in the dirt while digging the picture frames.

Looks like you found 2 very old sites. Nice finds, I like the knife blade.

Wow, you know you are hunting in old dirt when you find a flint point!:surprised: Awesome!

That's some great stuff. Are those all flat buttons? Very nice lock. Post a pic when you clean your relics and restore the frames.

All are flat buttons except for the eagle button which appears to be a two piece. It's still very encrusted. I will know more after I clean it up a bit. I'll try to accomplish that on my next day off.

I looked it up and it does seem to be New York City & Hudson River Railroad Co. Couldn't find any information about value or rarity though. I like the look of it as well.

Nice padlock....A coworker who is a long time railroad buff say
s the "C" is for Central
