Early Evening Park Hunt

New member
It was a beautiful evening in So Calif. Decided to detect a park that I have hit at least 25 times. I only had an hour or so before dark.
I first hit the edge of the basketball courts. Not much there. This park is hit hard by most of the detectorists in the area on a regular basis.
I started detecting the outside edges of the park that I thought no one else may bother with. Boy was I right. In less than an hour the old guy hits
14 quarters, 7 dimes, 3 nickels and a pocket full of zincolns. One hot wheels car and 10 pull tabs. Not setting the world on fire, but it was a very peaceful
Evening hunt.

Nice, I find myself detecting the "undesirable" places more often now and have had some great finds. As much as I want to detect the obvious spots the not so common places(volleyball courts, tot lots, hold treasures as well.

well this is it what if a ring was lost thear it also would have been yours,

I never worry about what I'm going to find. The thrill to me is not knowing what I may find. A hot wheels car or a token to me is as exciting as a gold ring or a Barber half dollar. I have never sold a thing I have found or cashed in a single clad coin. I found a women's gold chain on a recent vacation trip. Actually it was an eyeball find. The excitement was in seeing how it made my wife glow when I put it on her. Now that was rewarding. I have rolled over $3,000 in clad and Copper coins in the last 3.5 years. That has paid for several detectors and accessories. Now I think we are going to take. Trip to Hawaii on the 200 odd rings and jewelry I have found. Nothing beats the fun of seeing the sun come up while out detecting and the comradery of a long time hunting buddy sharing the excitement of a find, no matter what it may be.
