EARLY PULSEPOWER DETECTOR HELP....!!

A

Guest
I have an early Pulsepower detector model #DEEPSCAN C400 (HIPMOUNT) which I have carried all over the world and it needs work. I sent it to Keith Wills at East Texas Detectors who kept it for a couple of months and finally returned it stating that he couldn't locate the parts to repair it.
Is there anyone on the Forum who knows where I could send it for repair?
Thanks,
-Butch

If you can wait a bit untill after 7/22/03, Eric will return. He designed that unit and may be able to help out. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Thanks Bill........time is not a great concern at this point...I emailed Eric a couple of years ago about repairing the unit, but travel and other committments on my part prevented me from carrying through with the negotiation. By the time I thought of it again, I had lost his email address and the old Pulsepower UK Website was offline. I stumbled across this forum and decided to post the query.
The Deepscan C400 has really been a great little detector for me....I purchased it from Stu Auerbach at KellyCo (small outfit then..) back in 1982 and took it with me everywhere as I continued my Naval career. It's been to several European countries, North Africa, South America and the Caribbean.
The problems arose when the battery pack gave up the ghost and some guy convinced me that the "C"-cells could be replaced with "AA" batteries to reduce weight with no loss of performance....don't know if that in itself is the problem or not, but it was a few weeks before I could use the unit after the switcheroo and it hasn't worked since.
I'll certainly be here when Eric returns...Thanks again.
