For all you back East who think all the big gold is only found out West, take a look at these pics from the Smithsonian. This is a part of their gold collection on display in the Natural History Museum building. Note the BIG nuggets found in Virgina.

I lived in Lynchburg for 7 years as a kid. Still have some friends there. How far away is this gold mine from there?Is it still in operation?
