A quick question for you all if you can spare the time from all of your digging. Have you noticed that twoonies read deeper than they really are? I hit one today that pinged at 4" no wavering. It was just under the dust. Sensitivity was at 2 bars.

I'm not complaining mind you, just wonderin'

I can't recall those toonies reading deeper when I found mine, but depending on soil conditions, machines will sometimes be off a bit. Just remember how your machine read a toonie, so next time you can accurately guess what's under that coil.

To be able to tell the machine what's under the coil instead of the machine telling you is a sign of a very experienced detectorist. :)

I found a new park, to me anyways, that has coughed up almost 10 dollars in clad in three hours worth of hunting.

The twoonie really threw me since I was just chicken scratching, the persistence of the bell tone made me go for it. My coil was right on the ground, grass up here isn't really an issue this time of year, it just lays flat hoping to survive the winter.
