effect of global warming in Canada

From the land of the Bluenose.....global warming has effected the behaviour of these poor birds who now can't get any sleep nor roll up the rim to win!

Many people laugh and joke about global warming and no I am not an environmentalist wacko ...

But there is some truth ... possibly a lot of truth ... to what is being proclaimed. When you stop and think about the damage has been done to the land from mankind - take a ride up and over Red Mountain Pass in southwest Colorado to see what I'm talking about - there has to be some affect on the planet. The world population is growing and more resources are being consumed. Somewhere along the way something is going to happen ... be it global temperatures rising or some other issue derived from the use of resources.

It wasn't all too long ago that "acid rain" was a critical issue damaging the forests and killing off the fish (as the rain took the acids out of the air and into the ground water).

Now you have in the midwest the issue of pesticides and fertilzer getting into the ground water. Also - stop and think about all of the food sources that are being planted and are "ready" to resist various pests or other plants. They have various seeds that are round-up ready ... stop and think, if they are round up ready then that means when the harvest is made the roundup is going with the harvest and eventually traces into your food.

It might be time for all of us to stop and think about what we do on a daily basis. She we walk the 2 to 6 blocks to the store or drive? If you don't believe your car doesn't pollute stand behind it in the winter time (when cold) and watch what comes out and if snow is there look at the color of the snow.

We are impacting our planet - no doubt, you can see that.
