Eight coins in one hole!!!!!!!!:surprised:

By eight coins I mean 7 wheaties and one 1944 Merc dime!!! I didn't find the 8 coins, my dad did. He said that he was expecting to find a penny and maybe a dime when he got the signal. Well, when he popped the plug the Merc came out and then when he looked back into the hole he saw two pennies sticking out of the side of the hole. After he got the two wheaties out of the hole he put the plug back on the hole and got ready to move on. Before he did, though, he waved the MD over the covered hole again. There was still something in the hole. So, he opened the hole up again and dug out the rest of the coins. On top of all of that, he also found 3 more wheaties!!!!

These are his totals for the day:

10 wheaties (1920, 3 1944s, 1956-D, !955-D, 1957-D, 1951-D, 1953-D, and 1942)
1944 Merc dime
$5.71 in clad (bringing his total since Friday to $9.92)
marble:shrug:
Cheap bracelet
20 corroded pennies:veryangry:

And now, on to my finds:

2 wheaties (1950-D, 1949-D)
$2.25 ( bringing my total to $3.51 since Friday:cry:)
Toy truck (1980s??)
1961 Canadian penny
26 corroded pennies:rant:

Great lod coin spill! Pictures. Pictures. Pictures. Sounds like a fine day and must be nice to have something fun to do with the old man.

Nice spill that your father found
Lots of older coins that's good.
Always good to recheck the holes before moving on.

You tied my record! Several years ago I had my GTA 350 (before I meddled on the insides and destroyed it:sadwalk:) and got a signal that registered slightly above the dollar mark! I had searched and received an OVERLOAD signal with another brand of detector at the same hole a couple of weeks earlier. Seeing this reading, I investigated and found 8 quarters stacked on top of another!:please:

Very kool Roscue good thing your Dad did a double take.

Yep, them multi coin finds sure cut down the digging vs coin ratio. :spin:
The biggest single hole haul I've had so far was not long after I got my machine.
54 wheaties in one hole, along with a few Canadian coins, etc.
They were obviously buried on purpose as a "stash". They were not in a box,
but very tightly clustered in the same hole pretty much.
Started out with one hit.. But every time I would recheck the hole, I'd get
more hits.. And more. And more.. And more.. I probably spent an hour getting
them all.
These were in my front yard, about 10 feet from the front porch. It's still my one
hole record three years later. All wheats dating from about 1909, going through
many years. Lots of 20's, 30's in there. There may be a few extras in that pix
that were dug later, but 54 came from that one hole.. I see 59 in that pix..
The bottom ones hadn't been cleaned yet, and were single finds..
