I keep hearing about electro polishing but do not know anything about it.
Is this something you make up yourself or do you have to purchase some expensive apparatus or something?
Tell me more!

This is exactally what I had in mind. I have seen it referred to many times in this forum but had no idea how it was done.
Looks like it would be pretty easy to pit the coin if you let the process go too long. The article says more voltage is better but less may be more controllable. I am not sure how fast the process runs but I get the idea.
