Are the readings the correct readings for a GT set to frequency one or are they for correct for the GT set to frequency two?
Thanks, bottlebum

You mean band1 and band 2 on the noise cancel, there should be no difference, should mark the same in both.

Yes, that's what I meant. Knew something wasn't right when I was typing it. I figured that rather than check the faceplate on the detector, I'd make myself look stupid.:sadwalk:

I notice Band 2 will read the same as any Sovereign on meter ID, but in band one the higher conductivity will be the same, but when you get lower conductivity targets the meter will read higher than in band 1. A while back I remembered that band 2 was the one that had the better ID and also someone did a test and found that band 2 also seem to give a better signal on the deeper targets.
I have the 180 meter and a nickle on band 2 would read 144-145 and when I switched to band 1 it read 147-148, but my good coins still seem to stay in the 179-180 in either band. What we do is run in band 2 and if we are next to another Sovereign or get electrical interference we will switch to band 1.

Thanks Rick. I thought I had heard something about that quite a awhile back but I couldn't remember the particulars. Lately, I've been running in band one and couldn't figure out why nickels were reading different than what I was used to. I'm going to switch back to band two.
