FIrst, thank you for you concern on our emergency. We got through it and I was able to get back with Elson at about 1330. We spent the rest of the day until dark having a great time!
Our first stop was at the1920's school where I spent grades 1-5. I have been hunting this place with every detector I have owned, since 1962! Nancy found here first detecting find here while we were dating. That was back in 1970. and she found a merc. It was an honor to hunt this place with Elson. He did manage to find some old coins that I had missed!

Elson used to say "Now I am not a smart man" but here is the proof to the contrary, he decided that the best coins were in the shade!

We then drove up to the forest north of here and tried our skills in finding an old town site I have been looking for. Once again he started finding things.

We stayed here for a short time until a charging bull and his buddies made us a little nervous. He eye-balled us for a while as we hunted but stayed back so Elson did not have to break out he gumbo pot.

We left here and did a little mud bogging over to and old church in the woods. "Oh come to the chruch in the wild woods"

We hunted here for a while, but Elson was geting hungry for supper, and with all we had been going through, I realized I had not eaten since noon the day before. We ate at a place that was way different then he was used to. I will let Elson fill you in on this.
As night was coming close we drove the truck on up to the top of the big Butte that overlooks about everything within 50 miles. I got a shot of our friend enjoying a drink of water and looking out at the view.

We are going to have breakfast together tomorrow and then he will be on his way, I sure am going to miss him! He took a bunch of picts as well and will be posting his version of the trip soon, HH DC
