circa 1959..my sisters and I sang at many community functions...two part harmony...pop songs..

I'm on the right of the pic in this" vaudville "show :shocked:

We were singing "Take me Along" ..from a Jackie Gleason Broadway show..

I hated that song, but my mother said "that's what you're singing whether you like it or not!"..:rage:

in those days one did not question Mom..or one got a whallop or a wet dish rag thrown at her. :nono:

bending the wood into shape...had glue dripping all over it, but finally got it completed....wish I still had it ..or a pic of it to show you

It's an interesting instrument and has a great sound ...nice for accompanying folk songs.

Do you have a pic of your dulcimer to post? Would love to see it
