First let me start by saying that there are few people, that I have ever met, that I enjoy a visit from more than "Big E" when he comes into town on one of his world wind tours ! I always have a blast swapping tall tails and outright lies. We got together and must have talked for about 4 hours before we took off and headed to lunch at the local Perkins restaurant. we chatted about his experiences during Katrina, the kids, dune buggies and of course metal detecting. Unfortunately we were not able to get out and do any digging on this trip but hopefully when he gets back into town we can make a day of it and find some goodies.

He said he wasn't too happy about his accommodations at the local hotel this time. Even though it was quite cheap, he said he got tired of eating with a spoon all of the time, he kept dropping the soap in the shower which was a "pain", and it seemed like he was under constant surveillance! I asked him where he was staying and he said something about the "Hotel Falkenburg." Since I wasn't familiar with it I said, "let's go take a look and see what the problem is." When we got there it didn't take very long to realize how to fix the situation.......

Once we realized what had to be done, we relocated Elson to another area hotel and he said that this one was much better. He liked the fact that no one whistled at him as he walked past the "other rooms" and he said one friendly fellow kept calling him "candy pants" even though he explained over and over again that he didn't have any candy in his pockets.

We had dinner at "Cheddars" after a quick tour of the Brandon, Fl. area and then met my lovely wife, Debbie as she got off from work.

We took one last picture in front of his hotel room, said our goodbyes and sent him toward Ed in Naples. Sounds like they had a pretty good time as well. Anyway, I had fun and I hope he did as well and I can't wait for the next adventure when he comes back to the area for the big air show in Lakeland called "Sun-n-fun". Looking forward to seeing you then "Big E !"
