Elson's visit and "The Elson Rap" :lmfao:

The focus of Elson's visit was to see more of Idaho, do a little detecting. and to have fun. We did not find the "Clopman diamond" or a pile of gold and silver, but we had a blast. I regret that because of an emergency I had to leave Elson alone for almost 24 hours of his short visit to deal with a serious problem. I think we only spent a couple hours detecting. We did cover a lot of ground, see a lot of things, and enjoy each others company. When it got hot, we found cooler places or did something else. I can detect anytime. but time spent with a great guy like Elson is hard to come by! We had the Grankids this weekend, and they are still talking about the fun they had last Sunday with "Pappaw Elson".
I was going through some photos to post again about his visit and there was one of Elson looking like a "Rapper". I was inspired so, here is my photo journey with him set to a rap song, by me. Use you imagination as to the music...

Hey yo listen up this is Elson G.
Hangin' in the hills wid my possee D. C.
Here in the desert and da mountains and woods
Long way off from my Cajun hood

I had me a dinner of roasted elk
Ate enough to qualify for golden whelk
They got no crawfish or gators here
Just rattlesnakes, elk, and a lot of deer

Out in the desert stages used to run
Diggin' up some wheaties havin' lots of fun
I found me the makin's of a jambalaya
I think I'll cook it on a sagebrush fire

Huntin' on the balll field of Dave's old school
I showed him this Cajun boy ain't no fool
The XLT and I pulled some tricks
And found me a coin from 1936

Deep in the woods by a grassy knoll
I had me a run-in with an angry bull
I learned I had a skill dat was new to me
Runnin' like heck invoking Deity

High in the mountains in the piney woods
We found us a place that looked mighty good
A pretty little church back in the trees
A good place to spend some time on my knees

Upon a nasty road in four wheel drive
We made it to the top and dat ain't no jive
Lookin' out as far as the eye can see
A mile high mountain is the place to be

Hello Dave,

I always enjoy your posts.

I sincerely hope that your emergency has been positively resolved.

I'm sorry that I missed seeing The Crayon Man, but there's still time.

Your poetry definitely works. Were you thinking about the Davy Crockett song or
the theme song from The Beverly Hillbillies, when you chose your lyrics?

I've enjoyed Idaho. There are definitely scenic marvels there.

Happy detecting.

Respectfully,

The Nutty Teacher
