is their a difference in depth between these two units,??? SS is more money and more controls, on face, how old in the cs6PI in relation to the SS ??tks. Jim

Since the Pulse Delay is higher with the CS, if it was the same as the GQ, would they not have similar depth capabilities? Don

You could not get the CS6 to a 10uS. delay speed without extensive rework. One would have to tune the Goldquest SS to about 18/19uS.to put it in the range.
With the Goldquest SS, it can handle the ground better because of the adjustable SAT, and the coil is at a true 11".
I don't have a CS6 here to measure, but I think the coil is smaller. That could affect the depth.
The Goldquest SS uses the latest Ic's also. There is a tad bit gained here also.

agreed, coil on CS is 10".

As well as the small difference in diameter, the internal construction of the Goldquest coil, the wire used, and the number of turns is different.
