Etrac / Mac

Will the Etrac software shortly be available in Macintosh compatible form?

Huh...good question for Minelab Techs. If not then maybe you need to put your Mac in the oven and sprinkle it with cinnamon, and bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour and you will have Apple Pie Form. Then go out and buy Windows XP....That sounds expensive....New detector $1500....new computer...$1500....is it really worth it?......I would stick with the SE and the Apple.

I am sure they would come out with it eventually....if not then bites being an apple owner with an E-Trac.....Just having a little fun with this post....I apoligize!

I could run Windows on my Mac but why have to spend a couple $100 when MineLab should be developing parallel software?

I won't bite into that one.....but maybe a friend or relative will let you download windows from their CD.....but then again.....how big is your Hard Core?(Hard Drive)(sorry another apple joke).......it will not be a small file....:help:

Latest figures........Windows is 91% of the market. No business man in his right mind would waste time & resources writing software for an OS that is 8% of the market.

Windows users don't know why they're not buying macs, they're just following the crowd. Have you not heard that the stampeding herd is usually wrong?

It's sort of like buying good value stocks while the crowd is rushing to sell for no reason.

this is already becoming a problem ,macs are quite popular in the u.k and quiet a lot of us use them ,i may well be able to access programs through my sons mac-pro but its a pain in the butt ,when virtually everything you buy these days (including magazine freebies) is dual windows /mac compatible .a very very short sighted assumption on minelabs part .

were capable of running Windows as they are using an Intel chipset now or is that just certain models. Minelab may not have the programming staff to port the software to the other platform though I'm sure it can be outsourced at a reasonable rate. I think it would be a good idea to have a native Mac version as well.

My son and daughter both have Intel Macs but mine is an older version.

I'll have to check into that.
