Etrac observations

Today I got over some silver......and had some good observations.

The silver dimes where hitting in this park 45-12 or 46-12.....which is lower than what I have found them at, which usually has been 47-12. Clad dimes were coming in at 45-12 too.....

But I noticed that when you hit on the silver coins.....the response was different. The audio was very sharp and short compared to the clad and copper coins I was finding. Where as the wheatbacks, which were hitting 40-12 or 41-12 where more drawn out in the audio. I zero'd in on that and I got a couple more.

Keep it in mind.

Didn't you just post the statement on the Explorer forum:

I don't know about that fluty sound but listening to audio sounds will never replace good old hard digging chasing iffies

and then you go on to tell us in text what the silver hits sounded like

Here we go again...:clapping: Eric - your gonna windup getting banned from this section too, then what, you will go to maybe the Whites section and complain how you were booted from yet another section?

Dude....it was a joke. No matter how many times you listen to some audio, play with the emulator, read the books, post complains about detector technology, etc.............you can never replace time, experience and digging a lot of holes to see what's down there. That's the way you master the machine. That what the guys that can run the machines well have figured out. I hunted with Bryce in St Louis a couple years back, and I can tell you he is doing no different than anyone else. He tells everyone what he does??? The difference with Bryce is his patience and concentration to hunt in beyond trashy environments, and he has mastered that.

And Eric, they never sound fluty to me. Most of the silver coins I find, don't hit or sound like air tested silver coins. If you figured that out, you won't be finding many silver coins in hunted out parks. Stick to private yards!

Save some of that coin you dropped, and go to the park and start digging the deeper hits........you might like what you find.

Dude...

You and a few other posters keep offering the same tired old line:

No matter how many times you listen to some audio, play with the emulator, read the books, post complains about detector technology, etc.............you can never replace time, experience and digging a lot of holes to see what's down there.

But offer absolutely no evidence at all to support your claim. I guess what gets me is the lecturing tone as in:

If you figured that out, you won't be finding many silver coins in hunted out parks. Stick to private yards! Save some of that coin you dropped, and go to the park and start digging the deeper hits.

I'm not terribly interested in getting banned from this forum too so despite my better judgement...I'll bite my tongue :yikes:

BTW, you might want to consider listening to the "old" Silver Platters next time rather than that unsigned artist you mentioned on the Explorer forum!

See ya!

Dude...here's last year and so far this year for the most part??? Was cool looking them all over again, remembering that fluty sound in my earphones. (Don't you wish you knew what it sounded like??)

I do have a copy of some old time sounds...it's a bootleg I got called "Golddigger's greatest old time hits". I learned a lot from listening to him too!!!

dreamweaver43 would you mind posting how you have the E-trac set up. I am thinking about taking the plunge and if I do...would like to have a start as to how to set it up.
I might not even get one but would still like to see how you run yours.
If you have used an explorer....do you like the etrac better?
Thanks...Darrell

Seems like we are getting off track. BRAD....Great finds. Silver does seem to have a different/sweeter sound. Thanks for the info. Maybe at some point you will be able to tell mint marks before you dig? (just kidding).
