Hey Guys,

I recently sold my Safari and got into a Etrac I pick her up Sunday. Been reading online material and ordered Andys book. What is some advice you can share with me as a new user. The Safari was not a issue for me but I know this has way more settings.

I mainly hunt parks and school near me (old sites ) and old homesteads.

look for and Id Chart to help out and someone to explain ferrous and conductive to me. ( i know ferrous is iron ) also the difference in the ferrous sound mode or conductive l had that on the safari and never heard a diff.

thanks guys.

I went from the Safari to the Etrac too and it was an easy switch. Dont get all caught up in the settings on the Etrac, as a lot of them are only for the gadgeteers. Keep it simple and youll be happier. The Etrac is worlds above the Safari in the trash fields but is equal in clean ground. Talk to goesforever and watch his videos, he is the expert. You will love your Etrac and it will astound you as to how it can sort through the trash. A small coil helps too. I got the 5.5x9.5 NEL and it is even better than my 8x6 SEF. My 2 cents. HH

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing some of your finds!

In the "sticky" section of this forum, (right above the threads), there are links to what the different targets the FE and Co numbers represent. There is also an explanation of two tone ferrous (TTF), another good tool to understand.

If I had to give one piece of advise for the e-Trac, it is swing slow!

Good luck!
