Went to a restaurant this afternoon and had a great meal (dispite my sinuses). At another table I overheard a Grandmother with her daughter and a couple young children (grand children) as they sat down to order. This restaurant has a nice thing for people - they give out birthday card with discount for your birthday. The grand mother had one of these cards and was going to have something special...not just eat off the buffet as the rest of them were going to do.
The waitress came and took their orders and the grand mother was excited that she was going to get her special meal and the waitress informed her the certificate was only good in the month of her birthday - which had expired. Sadly the grand mother was disheartened and figured she would have to just eat from the buffet as well.
I spotted a lady who apparently had heard the same conversation go and talk to the waitress. I know her to be a good Christian lady. The grand mother was more than surprised when the meal she had wanted arrived at the table and was told it was paid for in full.
I did not get to see her face as I had them at my back. I know the lady who paid for the meal and knew she was not in a financial position to just do things like this. She had been touched by the grand mother's comments and decided to add the meal to her bill. It was a God thing for sure.
I would say who it was but I don't think that matters as much as the fact there are good people who go out of their way to show Jesus lives. May her crown have an extra jewel just for this one Act of Random Kindness.
I am sure this is something the daughter and grand children may see as an ARK. God bless the grand mother, the daughter and her kids.
