If you're interested in this kind of history this might be a neat little project:

1) Go to the following site and download the printable 1936 decoder:

2) Go to this website and download the 1936 audio files and then decode the message:

When I first cleaned it off I thought is was some military decoder because it said USA on one side and "official number" on the other LOL. Pretty heavy duty and official looking for a kids toy. Then again I guess everything was made better back then.
