Every wonder about detecting at a summer camp?

I ran across this website and it has a lot of research potential if you are wondering what camps are in your state and local area. Hope this peaks your curiousity and you find some new 'old' campgrounds to get permission to detect at.

Imagine going to one of the camps, not asking permission to detect but offering services to come out if someone loses a valuable. With so many people coming to camps in the summer lots of things are lost and you might get a few calls to come detect. Maybe an agreement with the camp owner that anything found above and beyond could be shared or at least let him know what you found - ya just might make a lot of people happy - including yourself.

Hmmm where is Camp Rotary? Clare, MI (Camp for Boy Scouts from the Lake Huron Area Council)

These camps are searchable by type of camp, state, etc. - bet ya find a few you didn't know about near you. Good luck and happy hunting.

...I have plans to detect an old summer church camp soon as it gets warm at a place near me-I guy I talked to on Treasurenet invited me to an old HUGE church-camp that has never been detected before...He is a newbie and wants to get some pointers from someone that has a "few"years of swingin under his belt...He sent me an E-mail and told me he had this old camp at his disposal-All he wants from me is a few suggestions on how to do it;and what to look for-And;we will have almost unlimited access to this sight...SO: Of course I said"OF COURSE"!!OH: I can just SMELL all them old coins,crosses and jewelry waitin in the ground;waitin for us!!
