I'm interested in purchasing a new Ex Cal. Is there anything that I need to know? For instance, I've read that the stock shaft isn't balanced very well and an upgrade to a straight shaft is better. I should mention that I swing with my left hand if that has any bearing.

The straight shaft is a definate "need to have" unless you plan on hipmounting it in which case you could get away with the stock one or even use the sov one if you already have it, also a good big scoop as you'll need it
