EX II Trouble?

Was using my EX II sunday in IM -14 and while digging a target it went into digital. Maybe I hit the wrong button while using my probe but when I returned to detecting it would not let me return to the expanded IM screen. It acts like two positions when using the IM switch are set to digital. I don't like the small IM screen and like to be able to see the depth, target plot and the sensitivity. I eventually went to smart with a nearly wide ope screen. Re-boot? How? Any sudggestions?

To re-boot simply hold the power button in for a few seconds while the EXII is turning on, it will go into the factory set-up then. It won't affect any saved programs but you'll have to reset you threshold, tone settings etc.

There is an "expand/reduce" screen size icon. Did you try that?

I had the same problem with my Explorer XS I. When I sat my machine down to dig my target and then picked up my detector to start hunting again it would switch from smart screen to digital all by itself. I thought I was hitting the button when I was picking up my detector, but that wasn't the case. I was going to send it in to Minelab, but it hasn't done that for a while now and since it hasn't affected my programs or my finds I have just put up with it. I didn't want to be without my Explorer and I wasn't sure what the turn around time would be if I sent it in for repair. HH.

Picture this! You have your detector on the smart screen or the digital screen. You hit the Iron Mask button(1). It takes you to and Iron mask screen. You hit the Iron Mask again(2) and it takes you to a second Iron Mask screen with a slightly larger plot screen and different available on screen options. (Thresh., depth, sens.etc...)On the second screen I believe is the expand screen option which will expand the screen so that the entire screen is consumed with the graph/plot, no options visible. If the Iron Mask button is again pressed(3) you will return to the original smart/digital screen. Now heres where mine is different suddenly. When in Digital or Smart it will not change on the first push(1a) of the Iron Mask button. On the second push (2a) of the Iron Mask button it goes to the first Iron Mask screen.If the Iron Mask button is again pusshed (3a) it goes back to the smart or digital. (whichever it was on originally)Clear as mud! Right? I guess I will try to re-boot when I get home and see if it reverts back to it's original operation. Any other suggestions still welcome, and thanks for the previous suggestions! I love this forum!
