EX ll problem

brocifus

New member
I am having a problem with my EX ll displaying numbers showing 23 09 for a dime then jumping back to 3 29 then to 00 I have reset and tried new coil
its seems if I turn to auto and low sens it stops?
anybody help?
Thanks Bart

Sometimes if you turn the sens up too much, the numbers seem to hang up,or not change as we would like for them to.
that may be why when you lower it,it acts better.
Does it do this everywhere you go,or just at a particular place?
Sometimes bad ground can make the id's be off,is why i am asking.

How does the dime sound? Is the tone consistent and high pitched every time you swing your coil over the dime? Do an air test....swing the dime across the coil and see if you get the same basic high tone. As Bob said, the numbers can get jumpy and freeze when the manual sensitivity is set too high for the ground conditions. Anyway, I wouldn't learn to locate and dig targets based on the display....learn to dig based on the tone...if the tone sounds good, go for it!!!

Very good advise Capt SE,i have had places that were soooo bad, grounds minerals!
that nothing seemed to id as it should.
But i crank up the sens and just go by sound as you said, always works great.
