Excal Sword Red Knob Removal?

nagov

New member
Just recently got this Sword in really nice shape and want to do some basic maintenance on it to keep it working right. I just can't seem to figure out how to remove the knobs without destroying them, would like to keep this thing looking original....any of the old timers out there give me a quick rundown on the procedure for knob removal?

You need to protect the decal so cover it up with tape around the knob. Then you have to apply equal pressure on both sides of the knob with two small screw drivers gently prying it off. Put some silicone grease on the shafts before re-installing the knobs.

Thanks Mel, I knew someone would come through with the answer. I knew there was some little trick to it since I couldn't see any obvious set screws. Appreciate the save Mel.
