Excalibur 800 /1000 what is the differences

one coil is bigger(1000) but does the 800 pick up more because its smaller?

I own both units. The target separation on the 800 is better for trashy areas. The 1000 gets better coverage. The 800 is easier to handle in deep water. Because the 1000 is reading more ground, it may need to be swung slower, to not miss targets. Just my take. You might order a copy of cjc's new Excal book. It goes into MUCH greater detail, than I can put into this small paragraph. Check it out!
