Excalibur 800 or 1000?

I'm in the market and wondered which coil is preferable? Also wondered what a reasonable price might be for a used excal. Thx.

If you are going to be detecting more in the water than the 10 inch maybe harder to swing than the 8 inch, this is the same with the beach hunting in sand as the 8 inch will be OK, but not much coverage compared to the 10 inch coil. Now you have to decide where most of your hunting will be and pick the coil that will work the best for you.
I have seen used Excalibur's from around $700-$900 range as new one retail for $1295 with the Minn advertised price of $1095 the lowest a Minelab dealer can advertise for.
