Excalibur on backorder

In the market for an Excalibur but, Minelab hasn't shipped any for 2 months or so. Do you beach veterans think it's possible the Excalibur is in for an update?

The representative in Australia responded to my querie by stating that the Excalibur was not a high priority for them and they had no plans for updating it. The focus of R&D was to be on the lower priced models as that is where they feel the market is. Unless something has drastically changed, I would say no dice on a new and improved Excal anytime soon.

Too Bad, the old girl could use a little sprucing up in the accessories department.

Cheers,

I wonder what they would call the Explorer Se then......

X-Terra series detectors have been Minelab's focus over the last few years, according to the e-mail I received. This is there response to the other manufacturers lightweight and lower cost detectors.
The good people at Minelab feel that underwater detecting is a small segment of the detecting market so it doesn't deserve much attention.
