Excalibur PROs....

You're right, I did mis-read that, I guess. I was thinking you were saying the tones were better on the yellows as well.

Now as to the theory that the yellow phones may have a lower volume on the Excal II and louder on the Excal, that is a possibility that I had considered. That will be interesting to hear. I will maintain though that if you take an Excal with blue phones and an Excal II with yellow phones, the blue phones are both louder and have a better tonal quality. From what I have seen and heard first hand, taking mine off and putting somebodys Excal II on and testing with the same settings.

What about putting the underwater Grey Ghosts on? I've heard great things about them, though have not had the opportunity to try a setup with them. From my experience with my Black Widows and Grey Ghost originals on several machines, I would expect them to out-perform both the phones from Minelab. Any thought on that?
