Excel maiden voyage

Don here, Well after tearing apart the ID to do some weather proofing. I took it out to the beach. Seems like a lot of rusted iron since the storms. Although, ID did not want to ground balance, it was quite sensitive. I ran it full on, all metal, and suffered some blips at the end of some swings. Probably will reduce sensitivity a little but am happy with its performance.

if your getting the 4 beep warning on the beach it's OK. It WILL still function fine. Think of it as just telling you that it's sensing black sand is present. If your really concerned, sometimes you can go way up in the dry sand & try to balance again until ya hear 1 beep. Either way, the Excel will still work fine. Sometimes I have to turn my sensitivity down in heavy wet black sand, but that's all...HH, Bill

Thanks Bill. It had me a little worried until I found that gold ring in the dry sand. Now to acquire a coinstrike for the wet surf.

in the wet sand. Just remember that the 4 beeps is just a "warning". Just some beeps to let you know there's mineralization present. HH, Bill
