Explorer Broken ?????

I have had a terrible time with the "Learning Curve"........But, in addition to an earlier post. I contacted "MineLab". If you think your Explorer is broken, Disconnect the coil and Headset. Now shake the "Control Unit", if there is a problem with the unit, you will hear sounds coming from the "built in speaker".......No sounds, NO PROBLEM !!!!! But, DO NOT hold your finger over the pins or you will hear a "HUM" !! (Yes, MineLab was good and helpful). I would hate to be on thier end, receiving the returned Explorers that were not broken !!!!!!
Happy Hunting !!!!!!!!!!!

Dont know about that one <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> sure wouldnt tell you if you had a bad coil,,, which you may have by the way your describing things.. In answer to your other question below I have yet to come across ground where its so unstable I couldnt use it the way I usually run.. had to run auto in Virginia but that settled it down very good thats about it.. you have anyway to try a different coil on yours? At any rate I think I would send it in for a checkup when winter sets in....Jim
