Explorer II Finds Silver Again

SAGITTARIUS

New member
In my post a couple of days ago I found a 1944 Washington quarter, 1925 wheat penny and a sterling silver ring. Today I found a 1944 Mercury dime, a 1926 wheat penny and some shallow stuff I dug to check the digital numbers. This is in a so called "pounded park". This Explorer II runs so smooth with the stock 1050 coil I wonder if I need the 10 X12 SEF coil I have ordered. My other Explorer was good but not like this one. I think there is a difference in same model detectors and identical coils.

Awww now you understand, specs or not no two detectors are created equal. Those were great finds. That stock coil for the Exp II was THE coil to have before the SEF and PRO came on the scene. Everyone was willing to pay big bucks for them... especially when compared to the slimliine. They are excellent coils and in trash... as good as the Pro or SEF. Sometimes a good smaller coil will serve you just as well especially in trash, iron, or on smaller items.

I just put a 10X12 SEF on my Exp.2 and am quickly becoming convinced it was worth it. Tried in my old yard last evening. I have hunted for 15 years with 5 different machines and managed to pull 2 wheaties out of it the first time I hunted it with the new coil. Good luck with the new coil, it should improve you chance a little and sometimes that is all it takes:)

The 10x12 coil will increase your finds tremendously. I gained an extra 2" depth over stock. Seperation in trash is incredible, I find all my silver in the trash nowadays. Good luck!
