Explorer II Pinpointing

Just received a new to me Exp II and hit the test garden. Seems to work just fine but really weak pinpointing. Have many coins at the 8-10" range and hits all of them but in pinpoint mode the tone is broken and not very convincing. Any suggestions?
 
You may have a internal problem or just not used to the unit...Personally rarely use the pinpoint button and pinpoint in disc..Double D coils if not used to them can take a lot of practice to become efficient. Might call Minelab and explain the situation which indeed could be operator error...
