Can the EXII be used as a good gold detector? I'm quite curious about his.

Not sensitive enough to the smaller nuggets. REALITY--most are small!
Get a real nugget machine for nuggets.
Eureka Gold
Gold Bug 2
MXT- not bad on nuggets
GMT
Lobo ST
If $ is of no concern, then get one of the above and the GP3500 or even a 3000 as you can get them at decent prices right now as everyone rushes to "upgrade" to the 3500.

I'm thinking of getting a 3500GP but first I want to buy an EXII... but one more question, the EXII can pick medium-big nuggets right? Although few and far between it could be fun to go searching in the all metal mode for gold and maybe some other stuff in the way.

You can use the ExplorerII for searching for nuggett if you want. The Explorer11 could be used as a security detector at a sporting event but is really not designed for that purpose. A walk through or other type would be better. I think that is what is being said. That is about what you get with the Explorer11 in searching for gold nuggets. It will locate them but has no mineral tracking as you find on the true gold prospecting detector. Most of these detectors are a gold detector with ground tracking, single frequency selection somewhere between 50khz to 80khz and many or all metal detecting PI machines. Nuggets are not deep as a general rule so all metal is used with decreased sensitivity. We can take the Explorer11 and hunt for nuggets and I am sure find them as many do but the Explorer11 is designed primarily for coins, jewelry, and relic hunting. If you want to give nuggett shooting a try then you can use the Explorer11 in IM-16 and the other settings as desired or use the nuggett pattern illustrated.
I don't use the EX2 to nuggett shoot so this is what I have been told or read by others that nuggett shoot.
Let us know how it goes.

Thx Everyone, I'm buying the EXII hopefully when I finally graduate in October and I'm going to the States next year to California (Where I'm going the desert is 20min away ), I'll let everyone know how it goes.
