Explorer III

When Minelab comes out with the new model I'm hoping for
1. Dual mode , either Explorer Mode with the old Ferrous numbers & tones or Etrac mode with the remapped tones & numbers.
2. The Heart of the Explorer 2 in Explorer mode, smooth & quiet, VCO pinpoint in both modes is OK
3. The Etrac handle angle
4 An improved easier to view, more durable screen, Don't need to be color but probably will be..
5. Lighter weight, 4 AA batteries instead of 8
6.More useful USB, up-datable firmware

Things Id also like to see but probably never will.
7. Built in probe switch & extra connector for accessory probe.
8..A clock

Wishful thinking wildherre and just maybe Minelab is already working on some of those. Cool picture by the way. Where was it taken at? HH.

talk about lite weight! I think the prices on the Minelabs has about reached its limit. I now have to buy used as it is. An upgraded Explorer II would be nice too.

From what I understand the cursor only moves once the threshold returns. In lots of sites that alone makes the VID usless. I always wondered, if we can hear a nice high tone, why can't it display on the screen?

I would also like a weight reduction and a 6 x 8 inch coil that punches as deep as the 10.5". Hey, we are dreaming right?

and I'm good to go. I would probably never need another machine. I really do feel the EX2 handles iron better but I can not do without my all metal ID'ing pinpoint on my SE.

Years ago, I owned a White's Eagle Spectrum. It was a heavy son-of-a gun.. But White's made a belt mount for the detector body which, although a bit awkward on your hip, allowed you to simply use the coil and a long rod and handle. That made it a real pleasure to swing that coil. You could do it for hours on end without one bit of fatigue.

I would love to see Minelab make a Explorer type model that is either belt mounted or strapped to your chest. That would be a real step forward.

I wish you could "zoom" into a certain part of the screen to change your target resolution. If you're only interested in high conductors and you could push a couple of buttons and only view the upper right quadrant of the screen (in the full screen) - that could be helpful. Seems like that would be an easy software code on modern LCD screens.
