Explorer SE beach setting

Gil

Member
Hi I would like to know where the beach setting is on a new Explorer SE. I can't locate it. I thought it would be in the select menu with coin, jewelry,..etc.. or doesn't it have one?

Thanks Gil

Hey Gil,

The pre=programmed types are Coins, Fe Coins, Jewelry, Foil, Pull Tab, Crown Cap, Screw Cap, and Nail. No Beach.

Just do your own adjustments, depending on the type beach you are at. Ie.: are you going to hunt wet or dry sand? Is the beach very mineralized or not? etc.... Generally, I just go in ferrous mode (to make the mid and low conductors sound bolder), and open up the screen entirely (nothing blacked out). Iron will give a low grunt. I prefer to hear iron while hunting the wet sand (even though I'm going to pass it), because by knowing where mother nature is grouping nails on the wet, is also where she might be depositing/grouping other heavy metal targets too :)

Sensitivity I usually run somewhere around 15 to 20, depending on the mineralization (just back it down to where it runs smooth).

Good point Tom.... I run 19 or better here in Florida.

Gil,

I was just looking at some things about the E-Trac, it has the beach mode - maybe that is what your were thinking about.
