Explorer SE Pulls A Few Goodies Today And...

...I let my CZ-70 have some fun too.

Here's all my good finds...CZ-70 got the top six, Explorer got the bottom six.

Got 3 of these 1919 dog tags and one from 1922...think we hit a pet cemetery.

Nice finds Mike, seems dog tags are showing up everywhere lately. Got one myself last week but only a 1953. Congrats on the finds.

faithful CZ-70 some playing time! My lady uses mine when I use the SE. Last time out she found a silver washington quarter at 6" before I even had my SE ground cancelled!
 
Yup, it's a winner...for sure. I had turned the machine on and started swinging and that Barber was the very first target of the day. That machine has always delivered for me. Oh, there's no doubt at all that the SE would have been screaming 00-29 at me...just saying...the CZ's are some silver hounds. Relic hounds too.
 
Can't complain about those finds at all! Unless of course someone's Grand Daughter knew where there Grand Parents had buried the animals and you got caught digging the tags from their Collars.:rofl:LOL! The Barber Dime books for $12 in VF so it still is a nice find to recieve. Don't find many with LIBERTY still readable. Hope you find many more interesting finds at that site and Good Luck and HH.
 
The glass container is like a cheap kind of a weird square "vase" thing that I found at Big Lots for like $2...it's perfect.

We were in a cotton field and there was once a house on the edge of the field in what is now woods. We were detecting not far from the house, IN the field. I suspect that the pet burial site has been plowed over repeatedly, as we found the tags spread over a fairly wide area. And we found no other remanants...such as bones, collars, or collar hardware...just the tags. I also found it strange that we found 6 tags from 1919 that were all male. Like perhaps there was some kind of dog virus or something, that killed a bunch of male dogs? I'm going to try to research that some...not sure if anything will turn up. Seems curious, don't you think? Why 1919? Why all male? Are there MORE? I'm sure we didn't get them all. Interesting, to say the least. We'll be back.

solution?? does it only work on silver??

It works best for silver. As for copper, I have tried it on a large cent and an Indian and I don't recommend it...unless you want it to look like an unrecognizable slug. I tried it on a brass button once and it worked well. It works well on brass and silver, and although I don't remember ever finding a tarnished gold ring, if you had a 10K ring that was really old that had some I think it would work very well on that. And chains...works great on chains.

Everything you need is in the pics. I use a teaspoon of baking soda as the catalyst. The power brick is from a set of computer speakers. I recommend one in the range of 12 to 30 volts and 300mA to 800mA.
