Hello All,
I bought this detector used awhile back and am experiencing a problem in which machine shuts off by itself and will also turn on by itself. When it shuts down by itself it wont come back on rite away. any help would be appreciated.

Ive heard of people having that problem. Which turned out to be a problem with the battery pack. I would make sure all the connections on the battery pack are clean, including the inside where the batteries are placed. Look inside the detector as well to see if anything is dirty where the connections are made with the battery pack... If you know someone or if you have a spar battery pack try switching it.... New batteries as well..... good luck... Still betting that's the problem.

I had the same problem. Looks to be dirty contact springs at the bottom of the battery well. I got some electronic contact spray cleaner from Radio Shack and sprayed into the battery well. I also cleaned the contact points at the end of the battery. Problem seems to be solved, but will know better when I give it a 3 or 4 hour test.

I have experienced the same problem as well. I started releasing the rubber flap cover and taking the battery holder out. This allows the springs to expand
