Explorer XS

I have a Safari and so far I really like the way it runs, but now I'm curious on the Explorers and how they work. Is a XS worth trying or should I go up to the SE? I'm still gonna keep my Safari anyways..................MO

Sure its worth try... and you can get them at a good price. From the guys i know hunting with them.... they can be just as good if not better than the SE. They are more difficult to pinpoint and im not sure about ML's repair policy now on them. Which ever you choose make sure you get the pro coil or SEF. Great back up detector.... just dont be surprised if you have a hard time deciding which to use.

I have too say i use the Explorer XS and cant say much for the se but my Explorer XS works excellent and im useing the stock 1050 coil and im getting depths at over 12 inches on some coins and relics.I have too say if i were too upgrade it would be too a explorer 2 only becouse of the ferous and conductive #'s on the screen other then that im staying put ! and i say this only from past experience with most other top of the line brands

I wouldnt up grade then Sas. Im not a real ferrous number fan.... they just arent very accurate and gives you another reason NOT to dig. Not having the ferrous numbers may be why people i hunt with that have the XS do so well.

Any of the Explorers will do. They are all exceptional machines.

I liked the sounds on my XS better than the SE Pro personally but liked the pinpoint better on the SE.

Check with Tony, he just got a nice Explorer XS in on a trade:wiggle: I think I am going to miss it.

I totally agree with you on the sounds on the XS and the pinpoint on the SE Pro. I also think the SE is a little lighter than the XS, but I also use the Joey coil on mine instead of the stock coil.
