EXPLORERE FOAM RUBBER HANDLE

TONE JUNKY

New member
I'm looking for ideas on what to replace my foam rubber handle with. It came off today as I was cleaning up the detector. I know this must have happened to others, so I'm asking for suggestions before I go the hardware store & buy something I don't really need.

Thanks
HH

How about a Tennis/Racquetball racket grip? They wind on, are comfortable and durable.

Thinking about the same thing, but mine is still intact.
Bike (bicycle, not motorcycle) shops sell different wraps for the handlebars. Leather, cork, and all kinds of plastics. Fishing stores sell handle wraps, too. Some steering wheel wraps might do as well.

If you have an original XS box you will see the prototype had no handgrip cover...I personally think that Tennis wrap grip is a good idea myself...

Its a nothing of a job to split the explorer down. Just a few cross head screws to take out. Not a daunting job in the slighteset.

CLings to itself, good gripping, comes in many different colors and can be replaced easily.

Vet Wrap is used by veteranarian's for wrapping horses legs, and other animals that need support. Can be purchased on line, at TSC (Tractor Supply Centers) and maybe other places.

I use it to cover my handle to keep the dirt and soil off the handle grip so it lasts longer. Also use it to keep the cable tight against the shaft.
