Expolrer Vs Quattro

Mike, I think if I was a "rich guy", I'd buy a plane ticket and a pair of binoculars and fly over to VA and follow you and Karl around, to see where your detecting. Only trouble is, if I waited for you guys to finish detecting "the site" there wouldn't be anything left. I think I have a new nickname for you two. How about "the cleanup men"? :twodetecting::cry::|I know they have the "cleanup woman" (a soul song by Betty Wright), who steals other womens men, but, you guys just go out and clean up the "stuff" that the other detectorists left behind.:twodetecting:

Hi Beachguy, I'm sorry I didn't get back to your post sooner. The Extro is still in the works and so it will be kept quiet for sometime. I am hoping for a frequency readout of the ID tones in the virtual display. Remember Beach, always believe and it will become reality.

Golden, you should be the "poster child" for the Quatro!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I'll be the stand in in case you can't make it, but I know your hubby has the Explorer and you still "rally" for the quatro, whewwwww. that's a pretty strong statement: i.e. you'd prefer the Quatro over the Explorer II or as you put it, and ( I agree) if you want a "kick butt" machine that does darn near the same thing with less hassel, you can't go wrong with the Quatro. (I'll bet the guys at Minelab are laughing over these posts, if they're reading them, but I really feel that way. It just depends on whether you want to use the extra "goodies" on the Explorer which give you more info but take more time. It's your choice! Marc Trainor.

My hubby admitted to me that sometimes when using the Explorer, as he's deciding about what to dig or not to dig, he tends to walk away from some of the signals, as the signals don't sound like anything worthwhile. But when I dig up those same signals, and some turn out to be fairdinkum relics, it makes him realise that by being too fussy with the Explorer, he does tend to walk away from potentially good targets. I believe the signals we get from the Quattro are different in that, after learning how to read the machine, it seems to be more trustworthy in telling you about the targets in the ground, if you know what I mean. Not often it's a guessing game for me, but I believe there is an element of wondering, with the Explorer, which is why you might walk away from some of the signals. That's not to say we don't get iffy signals with the Quattro. But the signals, after learning both machines, the Quattro seems to be a bit more dependable. But then, some would disagree with me, and that's okay.:detecting:
