This question may be covered if it is please help direct me to it please. If not I have the chance to purchase used either machine used locally at a fair price. Does the 70 have auto ground balance .Is the 705 improvements worth the added cost.I will use it 90 percent on the salt water beaches.I am new to this brand of detector but like the features listed. Thanks for your input!

If you're pondering pulltabber's in the classifieds, it's a good deal, especially for what you want it for.
You'd have to pay double that for a new 705 package with those coils.

The X-terra 70 listed here in the classifieds is a great deal. I have a 705 now but I had a 70 at one time and it was awesome. The 70 has auto ground balance. You can't go wrong with either the 70 or 705.

I was under the impression the X-Terra 70 and the X-Terra 705 are identical other than the name?

You get a back light and offset tracking with the 705.

it has a backlight and tracking GB offset. Plus another Pattern,a faster processor and Pinpoint Sizing. HH Randy

If ya don't need the extra features, just as powerful as the 705. As par as a extra pattern, most of us hunt in all metal mode. I never used the tracking offset and the pinpoint sizing is for the folks that take more time on targets to see if they really want to dig it. Also I never hunt at low light conditions, I'm tired after about 8 hours of daylight in the field!!!!........Mark
