Elton I just made a comment on the small football coil on my post. I use it all the time on the F70. Really like it much better than the standard and the DD 11". Great work Elton. Those indians are really nice to dig up. To me 6" is enough to dig down to. I run at sens@60-70 runs real quiet. Also run thresh@-3 so you aren't getting all those BB's and smaller stuff you can't find once you dig it up. You will get to know it. Good detecting Elton... Z

Good hunting Elton. It will just get better as you go along with the 70. Little light on the clad, tough. HH jim tn

Light yes............... can only dig it if I can find it .. Did you notice no screw caps or pull tabs ............ less traveled area of the park...

Nice finds Elton!

Elton,

Nice going on your hunt and congrats on the F70.

I have been running the 3.25 x 6.5 elliptical on my F75 and I love it. My air testing shows the little elliptical is a tad deeper than the 5" and you for sure get better ground coverage per swing.

My brother MarkCZ just got a F70 and I took 3 of my coils ( 5", 5x10, and 6.5") in for him to try on his machine. It will be interesting to see what he thinks is best for him.

Good luck,

Ron in WV

I noticed you were a little light on the trash, too. No medal of honor for you for not digging a pile of it. Refreshing isn't it? HH jim tn

Jim TN says he is getting great results with the 5x10 too. I just don't know which 5x10 he is talking about Fishers or a after market coil..

I love the sniper effect of the 5" and it is pretty deep for a 5" coil ..

Hey! Thats pretty nice stuff there! Like the guys mentioned, with this thing, you dont have to dig any trash at all, even crown caps unless you get curious about a certain unusual signal...

I will say, in your area that has been pounded to death, you may just want to dig a few curious 'multidenom coin stack/slant' kind of signals...you may want to familiarize yourself to those tones with a silver D and a buff nickel stack or something like that, or a Q and a wheat penny...Theres gotta be a masked spill in your area thats gotten passed over, and it may be a big one!.

The 70 gives such crisp audio feedback, along with the super fast circuit recovery, a guy can sort of tell the size and mass of an object like a spill from an object like a flat crown cap or metal shard..
Just saying, we pull a lot of clad stacks, slants, multidenom spills on account of the crispness of the audio...So I bet they sound like trash to other rigs and coils and easily get passed by...

Great showing there Elton!. :clapping:

Ditto on that Mud..... And the best secret to the 70 is...............SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (Whisper) If you turn it down, you can squeeze into those multidenoms and other trash hidden tidbits even with the big coils.
When you pull a nickel out of the same hole as a beaver tail, you know your in the zone. I have a new rule for 2015 that when I see trash on top of the ground in a park, my settings go directly to 35,-3, and 1 with no notch. Long live the 70-------IB

Really? Thats saying something! You've run a lot of gear in your days...dont be afraid to go really soft on the sens like IB is saying...for some reason, anything below 55 sens really makes the modulated audio come alive...you can hear the 'depth' and 'size' of the targets a lot easier..separation too on tight spills...'course, now that the grass is getting deep, a guy can run a bit hotter and high fly the coil off the deck a few more inches...

A fast sweep in the DE mode is really something too...it will pick up signals that a slower sweep wont hear..you will see, you will get a ping on a fast sweep, and try to find it slow, but cant hear it unless you really flash the coil over it again...then you can turn up the sens and hit it....I've not ever run in SL mode yet, DE seems to be just fine..if we get the chance to get together, I'll show you the 'hop coil' technique for PP...I hope to see some fine hunts this weekend from all of us!

When you get some more coil time, I will be interested in reading about what you think makes this F70 special....one of these days, you will be cutting the fins off that 11"! They just slow a guy down and the constant whistle from slinging the coil so fast gets annoying!
Mud

Thanks Mud............... Nice post.well almost anyway ..... Mud my man..ain't a chance in ___H___ I will be cutting those fins off hahahhahahahahaha.......:bouncy:

So if we get together.leave your blade at home...
