F 70 waterproofness?

Hey, does anybody know exactly how much rain a stock F 70 can take? I've had it out in little misty rain, and even little showering rain, and have come home completely soaked myself with no ill effects to the unit, but could it take a good pouring rain without protection? How about the headphones? seriously, I dont want to wreck this unit, but it sure is nice and peaceful when its raining out..
any ideas?

I told him to pull the batts and dry it out, He let it sit for a couple of days and installed the batts and got very lucky. No ill effects so far but it was a pretty steady rain and did temporarily crap out on him. It can happen. Let me add that he did not have a rain cover on it. I was running my 75 and he's fairly new at it and he thought that his would be alright also. My bad for not pointing that out to him but I figured it would be as weather resistant as mine. I was wrong. Hope this helps.

I can't say how much rain it can stand, but one drop in the right place and you got problems. Moisture inside the control box will also setup it up for corrosion (slow death). I have the F75 and it came with a rain/dust cover. I would suggest trying buy or make you a cover. I think one for the f75 or the T2 would fit your f70.

all i can say is i would not hunt in a steady rain!..draw your own conclusions,but i feel that
you are dealing with a sensitive electronic instrument,and unless the instrument was specifically
built AS a water unit,i would refrain from exposing it to moisture,such as in a steady downpour.
