Hello Everyone,

I'm not really 'new' to MD, but I'm new to the F75 and a machine with this much sensitivity. I used the stock coil for the first few weeks, but have now moved to the 5" that also came with my machine. I was amazed. I went from finding junk and a few coins, to lots of coins and other small valuables. However, with the size of the 5" it's a lot slower going. I've found that I can run the 5" wide open in lots of areas, but the stock coil I can't. Is there a setting on the stock 11" coil that is equal to the 5" set a 99 that is just as sensitive and goes as deep? So far, I have had to run the stock coil 60 and below to keep the noise down. ?????

Welcome, James! Cant answer your question..all I have is the 11"dd...the fellows that use it swear by that 5 though...If'n I was going to buy one thing this year that would be it...that said, some of us run really light on the sens and neg on the thresh to get things settled down to the point of finding good stuff...funny thing about old silver, some of it is not that deep, so a guy has to get comfortable with a steady program to hear the good from the bad...it may sound sort of stupid, but a lot of times I run the coil in a verticle hop pattern than a side to side sweep, like a blind man tapping with a cane, or a guy jigging through a hole in the ice..seems the signal is then pulsed down instead of scattered...so that sort of equates to using a large coil as a sniper I suppose...and Dbax, I nearly wet myself through laughter!

Now, I just need to find a "tall man's" lower shaft and the 5x10 DD to make a "sagebrush broom" (a'la Mudpuppy's "super sweeper" setup) to work around and under some of those hard to reach places

Why if I hadn't uf done it, neither one of us mightn't have ever knowd about this great new (F-75 5 X 10) coil!!-----This here followin's a little off topic but I feel the need to say it!!!-----Been doin a lot of huntin down here in CA in tank tops & they're a little uncomfortable but I'm afraid to take them off (tank tops, that is) fer fear of sunburn---what'dya think?------Also, wanted to mention---if that TN weather's about to whip ya----u might want to consider makin a trip up to OH & go around chasin behind snow plows with Elton! I had my tank top on this morning, as a matter of fact. I would be going backwards if I was following Elton around. He comes across as a pansy a@##@ wimp. Oh, my tank top was under thermo long johns, wool shirt and cold weather jacket. Was toasty warm. Now you take care, ya hear! HH jim tn

I lived too many years in the western mountains to ever call anyone that endures minus degree temps a wimp.

Check your "anti-freeze" stock and keep them socks & boots dry fellas.

I hear ya!-----I was raised & spent a good part of my working years in those kind of frigid temps (mid-west).-----Then, at certain times of the year, we would get the frequent BAD hailstorms & occasional tornado also to keep life interesting.----NONE of those lads/lasses that live in those areas are to be called wimps! --------I just like (no love) being a wimp in my old age out here in the warm climes now though!! ----------Del

Back on topic,
Does anyone have any specs or field test info on the 10x5DD?

If its anything like the GBP 10x5DD, I would be very happy with one. I got to swing one over a test garden on a GBP. I can only say for a coil of that size, it seemed to have good separation. And stronger hit on the targets than the stock 5".

If the 10x5 is as deep as the 11"dd but separates better, that would be sweet. The 11"dd is a tough one to compete against....great coil.

This Pansy and wimp don't hunt in 11 and 12 degrees below zero weather...... with 2' of snow on the ground.. LOL

But if I did it would be with only a tank top on not all trussed up in the garb you listed over it and you call me a "WIMP" ........................
