Hit the old fairgrounds and was swinging at 6:45 and lasted until 9:30. Quite tough digging on this spot as we are dry again.
Anyway, managed some clad and cents near an area my buddy and I had hunted earlier in the week when I managed to hit what appears to be a 1887 V nickel. But, could also be a 97 or 07 as it is toasted as you can see. Its the left black looking coin. Moved back across a service road and was swinging my way towards my car when I hit a wheat cent that was followed by another a few minutes later. 40 and 54 year dates on those. Working around the area I got a bouncy nickel range reading that mostly read 34 and 35 with the occasional 31 mingled in. Typically that a tab for me, but it wasn't deep so dug it. Glad I did, It turned out to be the 14 K wedding band. Out of the ground it locked on 36. About 2 minutes later hit the 42s war nickel and then called it a wrap. My t shirt was pasted to my back. You guys up north, we'll take some of your rain. HH jim tn
