I bought a 2 yr old f 75 in great condition. Went to river in 1 ft water and within 10 minutes coil shorted. Left in sun all day with no change. Since I bought it used with no warranty will Fisher swap coils or give me a discount on coil ?

Take care Jerry

Best course of action would be to give them a call. It might be a situation that some coils of that period had a problem and they will work with you. They are very good people to deal with. Good luck! HH jim tn

No might about it, they had a problem with leaking coils. I wouldn't put mine in the water for nothing. Seems there was a guy that posted he had done the same thing and best I can remember he drilled some holes the bottom of the coil and was able to dry his out after several days in the hot sun. Then he seal up the holes and was back in business. Nothing to lose at this point.

Have you measured the ohm reading between 1-2 and 3-4?
Every other combination should show open.

Here is a picture of the my older F75Ltd 11"DD coil on the left and my brothers newer Teknetics 11"DD coil on the right. Just my thought if yours don't have the extra sealer it most likely has water in it.

On the money as always WV.

what wv said. I had a coil would crap out in heavy dew, waters edge etc, till i bought some seal all and did those seams, course that was before I thought of bringing it in under warranty, which is what i should ve done to begin with, but in my case, the seal all did help. CO
