F2 HUNT 2ND TIME OUT

Woodchuck

New member
IT rained here two days straight, just what I was waiting for to go metal detecting. This would be my second time out with my new black F2.Usually I don't detect on a weekday, but seeing how it rained all day Sunday right through Monday,I was itch-en to get out.So I when out first light this morning, and thought I would try the 4" sniper coil,I had already tried out the 8" coil.I was detecting a baseball field, and it was flooded with water.I was detecting at a base of a steep hill where it then levels on the field. The hill is used as a slay riding hill in winter. All along the base of hill and field is a slight indentation that runs length of hill and field. It had standing water in the indentation.Anyhow first time out with F2 I had found a bunch of quarters along it.I wanted to see how the sniper coil would do.First hit along it was a solid hit reading as a quarter with a VDI number of 82.Popped it out it was so muddy didn't look at it and put it in my baggy I carry for that reason.Continued to hit the field. The F2 was going way deep with signal hits.I was running sensitivity at 3.I was digging on signals that was just to deep for me to dig,and not finding the item. And the field was way to wet and I did not want to leave any kind of mess.I did manage to find some pennies etc.I will hit the field again tomorrow when it is dryer. It was hard going searching for the coins in wet muck, and I forgot my pin-pointer too!.Well I got home and washed off that quarter, and guess what it wasn't a quarter on one side it showed Andrew Jackson and his birth and died date.On the back it showed the statue of liberty and said United states of America.Thee coin all so had a raised edge around it.But the biggest surprise it showed $1 next to the Liberty Statue on the left of it. No Mint date anywhere on it. YEA HA!!!!! I was doing the happy dance.I measured it against a quarter and it was slightly bigger than a quarter.I googled Andrew Jackson 1 dollar coin .And it came up that it is one of the 1 dollar Presidential series coins being minted each year and Andrew Jackson came out in 2008.YES! my first dollar piece..I'm liking my F2 already.

Congrats on your first of hopefully many .
