Been using the F2 with the sniper coil for the last few weeks and revisiting some of my more trashy park sites.
I am really liking this thing and I am finding some pretty cool things among the trash, sometimes in trashy sites I thought I cleaned pretty good with the 8" coil.
Today, not only did I find about $1.70 in the vicinity of a picnic pavilion that I went over very carefully in the past, but a junky looking ring popped up that SAYS 18k on it but I'm thinking not so much because it is so tarnished.
I think I am pretty good with that 8" coil, hopefully even better with the 10" I am about to order, but the more I use this 4" the more I think this thing could make anyone look pretty much like an expert.
The best thing was I also searched some grassy islands dividing the parking lot before I went into the park.
These are my favorite sites to hunt and I have found more silver, gold and clad buried in these than all the tot-lots I have ever hunted put together.
Today, in those islands, along with 1/2 the clad, the 2 scout slides and that toy truck in the pic, my F2 sniffed out a big piece of silver for me...12.9 grams.
In the ground it was open and it showed up as a 65.
Out of the ground when I closed it and air tested it...82.
This is due to the "eddy current" effect that affects and diffuses return signals coming back to the detector on chains of all kinds and broken rings.
This is why I am usually a dig it all hunter...the number said it might be a large piece of can, but it wasn't.
I love to dig odd and strange numbers...you never know.
Now I am ordering a test kit for my rings and it is a long shot that my newly found ring is really gold...but we will see.
I KNOW that bracelet is the real deal!

The ring does look suspect, you'd think 18k would shine no matter what...good write up on your hunting style and where you find the loot...thats important!
